OK, so I have been really bad about keeping up with the blog. So, I am finally going to catch everyone up to where we have been, what we are doing and where we are going. My last blog was in March when Jerry had his farewell from
DIA. So what have we been doing since then?? Well, below I have posted a couple of pictures from each of our events, there are a couple of events that I couldn't find the pictures from, so I will have to just tell you about those, these are not all in order of when they happened (that was too much work!)...here we go, this is kind of a long blog...
We went to New York City over the 4
th of July weekend, we saw
Wicked on Broadway...It was great, I highly recommend it!!
We took a trip to South Carolina to do Nana and Papa kinds of things with Jenny and Brandon, we can't wait for little Hunter to get here!!
We went to Kentucky on a house hunting trip and had lunch with our friends Bob and Mary...
All the girls went to Memphis for a wedding shower...
We had a wedding rehearsal in Memphis in May...
We had a rehearsal dinner...
And we had a beautiful wedding where we got a beautiful new daughter in law...
Mr. Huntington, my boss, turned 60 in May, so we had to have a party!!!
We sold a house...
We made a trip to Harper's Ferry...
We went to the Memorial Day Parade, downtown DC...
We had our end of the year party with our Teen Group from church...
We had our last "Parrot Head" party in Maryland...Kentucky here we come!!!!
We bought a new house in
Elizabethtown, Kentucky!!!!
Jerry read in a Bible Marathon on the steps of the Capitol, Downtown Washington DC...This was totally COOL!!!
Our friends, The
Mraz Family (Rok, Jerca & Julija), from
Slovenia can to visit us. It was our first time to meet in person. We had a wonderful weekend, we got to show them a little bit of America and we got a chance to know them better. They are now a part of our family and we can't wait to see them again...this time in
Slovenia!!!
And last but not least, I had my farewell...it was very hard, bittersweet and wonderful all at the same time. These people have all become my extended family, we have been together a long time and I am going to miss them all. We had a wonderful evening, they gave me some lovely gifts and we had just a great time!!!
We had a lovely farewell with our church family, they made us a beautiful blanket and gave us a book about Maryland. Unfortuantely I can't find where Jerry put those pictures, so I will have to add them later. Out of all the things we are having to leave behind, leaving our church family is by far the hardest. We love you all and we are going to miss you, but we do expect visitors to Kentucky!!
Well, I have shared a little bit of what we have been doing since March. We will depart the beltway this week, headed for the great state of Kentucky. One of the things that makes it so great is that it doesn't have a beltway!!!!! Being in Washington has been great, we have had some wonderful opportunities, times that we wouldn't trade for the world...but it's time to go back to our smaller town living, slower pace of life. So, with any luck I will have more time to keep the blog up to date. (-;
