OK, so I'm a little behind...we have been pretty busy for the last couple of weeks and I just haven't stopped long enough to get this posted...sorry!! This first picture is from the Praise and Harmony workshop that we had a church two weekends ago. It was great!!! Keith Lancaster came to teach us some new songs and we had a wonderful time. This picture is from Sunday morning, but we had a session on Saturday night and another one on Sunday night. Keith is so very talented and everyone sounded great!!

Then this past weekend Ruby was kind enough to open her home to the ladies...we got together on Saturday afternoon for a FesTEAvial and Luncheon at the Harvey's. As you can see by the pictures, we had a great time...food, fellowship and even a little "dress up"!! Thanks Ruby, it was great and we love you!

Check out these ladies in their very fashionable hats, shawls and gloves!!

Day Trip the the Caverns

Well, our Saturday started with a couple of errands and then we set off for an adventure. We decided to take a drive over toward the Shenandoah Mountains.

Our first stop was a little town called Sperryville, where we had lunch at Rae's. It was just a little local place but it was wonderful!! The food was great and the people were so friendly...we highly recommend it if you ever find yourself in Sperryville.

Then it was on to the Caverns. They were totally cool!! There were great formations and we had a great time listening to all the different stories.

After we finished the tour through the Caverns we took a drive on Skyline Drive. The leaves are not at their peak yet but there were some beautiful views just the same.

At the end of our day...you guessed it...we found a Cracker Barrel!! Now we couldn't think of any better way to finish a great day than to have a meal there.

Jenny & Brandon's Visit

Brandon and Jenny came up this weekend to visit. They got in in the wee hours of Friday morning. Jerry and I had to work on Friday (unfortunately), but the kids made good use of their time. Brandon took in 9 holes of golf and Jenny supervised from the cart (-: Then I think they did some shopping at the outlet mall. After we got off work Friday, we took them to a cool Italian place we know about to celebrated (a belated) birthday for Brandon. On Saturday we went on an adventure to the zoo, meaning we drove down there...ask Jerry about 19th Street sometime.

Here are some pictures from the zoo trip:

After we finished at the zoo, we headed back to the house...dropped the guys off to watch some football and Jenny and I headed over to the mall. We did some shopping, Jenny definitely got the deal of the day. We found a really cute puppy at the pet store, but Brandon and Jerry put a big squash on Jenny's plan for that! (-;
We headed back to the house just in time for the steaks that Jerry had grilled, they were great!
Then on Sunday, we had breakfast at Bob Evans before they got on the road to head back South. We had a great time and wish we were all closer so we could do that more often!!

Meet & Greet/Weekend Getaway

Well, our adventure for this past weekend was a quick trip to Gatlinburg, TN to see and meet Thomas Kinkade ...but you know us...we had to add in a few extras along the way...

We stayed in this great place along the river in Gatlinburg...

This was the view from our balcony...

We spent some time just walking around town...

We took a day and went to Dollywood...

For the Barbeque and Bluegrass celebration...

The food was great...
Did a little shopping...a little enjoying the fall decorations...
Riding our favorite rides...this was waiting for the best ride...The Thunderhead!!!

As you can see, we pretty much had the park to ourselves...not many other people!!

Saw our favorite shows...The Kingdom Heirs...
...and Wings of America

It was a fantastic day at the park!

Then thanks to John, our art dealer, we got to see, meet and talk to Thomas Kinkade...

He talked about how he got started, what keeps him going, introduced his wife, Nannette. And then he signed and drew a sketch on our painting...it was awesome!!

We also took in some nature...we saw wild flowers (complete with bees)...

We saw some wild animals, some we got pictures of and some we didn't. We did see a young black bear...he was busy looking for some berries, but we weren't at the right angel to get a picture...not one of the critters you want to go running up too!

Coming home we drove a good piece of the Blue River Parkway, it was BEAUTIFUL!!

Waterfalls and babbling brooks...

...a sea of clouds in the mountains...

Lots of tunnels...

Windy at the highest elevation...

...but a very calm and beautiful drive...

...another great weekend, brought to you by Trashman Tours & Travels!
We are truly blessed.
